A Brief Introduction

English wine has been gaining a lot of media attention recently, and rightly so. We have some fantastic producers in the UK, with the highest density of vines planted in the south east of England. Having said that there are also vineyards in Wales, Yorkshire and we even know of one in Scotland.

It is mainly in the south of England that we are able to plant varieties that are more familiar. They are especially delicious in what has come to be the UK’s most premium and sought-after wine; English Sparkling Wine.

English Sparkling Wine is similar to Champagne in that it uses the same grape varieties and our aim is for English Sparkling Wine to have a quality equal to that of Champagne.

Coming Soon

2018 is an extremely exciting year for us at Bluestone. There is lots going on as we have our first wine under the Bluestone brand being released in September. We will also be harvesting  our first fruit this year, which will go into a blend of English Quality Sparkling Wine to be released in 2021.

We will also be offering our first tours of the vineyard where we’ll show you around the vines, talk you through a typical year in the vineyard touching upon the good and the bad times that we encounter. Then we can move to a nice spot in the sun (weather depending!) where we can rest our weary legs and taste our sparkling wine and talk through how it’s made, why we make it that way and what we have in the pipeline for the future. As the tour comes to a close you’re welcome to sit, relax and enjoy Bluestone by the glass or by the bottle from the bar.

We look forward to welcoming you and your loved ones to spend some quality time at our little slice of Wiltshire…
